You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

On a positive note....

Because I believe that 'what we look for, we will find....' I looked for AND found three positive news articles about the situation in Haiti.

The first one can be read here.....

Matt Damon, Wyclef Jean help Haitian storm victims

Number 2:

Western Union Foundation Donates $25,000 to CARE

And the third positive article:

Hungry, homeless Haitians fed through Florida Baptists’ efforts

To quote part of Natalie Grant's song "Held"

Who told us we’d be rescued?
What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares?
We’re asking why this happens
To us who have died to live?
It’s unfair.

Chorus:
This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we’d be held
.

Jesus said (in John 16:33)

<<"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." >>

Jesus has overcome the world...so we can take heart!

All is not lost.

There is still hope.

God is great.

Regardless of our circumstances, God is still God and is still on His throne. No matter what we are going through, God does not change.

I was reading Psalms 46-I found it to be quite comforting.
Especially verse 10-which reminds me to 'Be still and know that I am God'

I'm off to practice that instruction.

  3. You are welcome.

I realize that the situation is still bleak-and that life in Haiti is hard, but there is good stuff going on. God moves in the midst of our darkest hours and struggles.

God is great. No matter what.
