You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

What I learned today....

* What an incomplete notarization looks like on 2 of my 4 documents. Bummer! (Already got these corrected, and plan to return to get the authentications on Friday.) I guess 50% isn't that bad. :-(

* Related to the previous one, I also learned exactly what language must be included on a paper for the notary to be complete and get authenticated.

* That the "Customer Service Center" is not in a fancy high rise or other hoity-toity government building. It actually looks kind of like an out building. Bigger than an outhouse, smaller than a barn. I feel bad for the employees that work in this old building.

* There is not an exit that I was told there was off a certain freeway, close to downtown. Luckily I figured it out before I ended up in another state! lol I really need to take responsibilty for getting and verifying my own directions!

* That it might not be a good idea to go downtown, in the state capitol, to the Secretary of State's office on the day that she (Jan Brewer) is going to be sworn in as our new governor, because our governor has been appointed to some spot in the new administration. Who'da thunk? Maybe I should pay a little more attention to current events/news? Naaah.

Today was a good day, because I learned all of these things. And probably more, but these are all I can recall at the moment.

What have you learned today?

  1. Today I learned that I have the most wonderful & encouraging friends ever! Praying your dossier is wrapped up soon my friend.

  2. Oh NO! I should have thought to warn you that some states are really strict about "proper" notarizations. I forgot about it because my state had some similar rules in place. However, they ended up revoking their requirements for notarizations to be "just oh so" because NOBODY could get their notarys to do things the way the state wanted them to. People were getting docs notarized over and over again and still not getting it right. It just became too much of a hassle for them to try and enforce the rules, so they changed the requirements- RIGHT before I had to get my state auths- Praise God! Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't think to tell you that, Lena! But I am so glad you got the notarizations fixed. Praying your second trip to that ugly little building will go a little easier!

  3. Four of my documents had just a notary signature with no wording. One was a xerox copy. One was notarized by a military notary and they can't be authenticated. Since we had to do it all by mail, it added about 3-4 weeks resending it all.

  4. Cara-don't be silly. You can't remember every single detail-it's not your responsibility anyway. You have been super-duper helpful, and I am grateful. Don't apologize!!!

And Kathy, sorry about that trouble you had-and thanks for putting it in perspective for me-because I am blessed to live close enough to drive to my Sec. of States office. Fortunately, the mistakes were on the letters I wrote, so I just came home and printed out new ones, then got them notarized. Friday I will go back downtown, and it will be all fixed.

Brief in the big I'm not too worried.

Thanks guys, for sharing your helps!

  5. Thanks for the prayers, Stephanie!

    Hugs to you.
