You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Another bittersweet moment....

Got an email today that my baby, little Jean Ba has been moved downstairs at the Orphanage. What this means is that he's a big kid now. He's not in the nursery with the babies any more. Boo hoo.

Of course, I knew this was coming-the last time I was there, I put the lil stinker in his crib and stepped away to watch him swiftly climb right out. And there was no teetering, no struggling, he just climbed out. easily. I remember thinking, no wonder he didn't fuss when I put him down. He was quite aware of this (new to me) skill he had developed. So there was no need to fuss. Just wait, and then get out. :-)

So I'm sad that he's growing so fast. But I'm happy too. And I'm sad that I missed the transition-I didn't get the chance to take down his crib and get him his first big boy bed. I'm happy that now he's closer to his big brother. And I'm happy that he's downstairs with the bigger kids, it will be good for him.

Bittersweet.

  2. Ugh. Really? It hardly seems possible that it is time for him to go down.

It will, however, be nice to have him closer to Steeve. It's hard...sigh.

  3. Oh Lena,
I know it breaks your heart to miss these milestones.
    How much longer?

  4. Hey Lena, I'm sorry! I remember feeling much the same when Justin started school. He would have been moved downstairs, too, if there had been room. I wish I could give you a hug. I will say this- school was GREAT for Justin, even though I didn't want him to go. The Lord knew what was best for him. And I trust He'll use this for good for JBah as well. The boys love to look at pics from the O and Petey always screams "Ba Bati!" when he sees your little one. So cute! I am happy your boys will be together with this new arrangement.

  5. Hey Lena~ I'm right there with you, as Kervens was moved downstairs too. I think I'll feel better about it once Rebecca gets moved downstairs and they can be together again.

Lots of bittersweet moments as we wait, huh?

    Love, Cara
