You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Two more children. Home.

Two more children from the O have come home.

That makes 7 children in the last 2 weeks, to three families.

There are 4 more coming down the pike-probably within the next few weeks-maybe even as soon as this week.....

Pray for the children and their families. It is a big adjustment.

Pray for the children left behind, this is a lot of change in a short time. The O will go from 34 kids to 23 by the time the remaining 4 that are almost done come home. These kids live, play, sleep, go to school, eat together. They are family.

Pray for the nannies and staff of the O too, as they say goodbye to children they love.

And thanks for praying for Jefferson-the boy with some urgent medical needs awhile back-he's one of the kids in the States now-so he'll be able to get continuing/ongoing medical care as needed. Praise God.

I'm happy for all these families, and missing my boys right now. I know our day will come.

God is great.

  1. I LOVE homecomings, but you are right - we need to pray for those left behind.

  2. That is great news!!! Not everyone thinks about the kids and staff that these children are leaving behind. Some may have siblings as well. How hard it is for them to know that they are leaving,it breaks my heart. But you have to try and look past that and think of the ones that are getting a great chance of life and pray like crazy for God to have the others adopted out as well..But then there are so many...it's a no win situation that none of us will ever understand but it still breaks my heart when you think about it...

  3. Absolutely! It is sweet and sad to see and experience these changes. One thing that helped me through all the kids going home last summer was that Nata had the chance to be the "big" girl. She has been the oldest child in the orphanage since Belle left and I think that was a good experience for her. I know it is hard to find blessings in the wait, but God's plans are in action!

  4. HI Lisa, thanks for writing-I enjoy interacting with people via the blog! The good news that the Orphanage the boys are at-almost all of the kids-including the 23 that will remain there-already have forever families. There's only a handful-I think maybe 3 or 4....that haven't found their families yet.

The other children are waiting while their families make their way thru the adoption maze-paperwork, fees, approval, immigration issues-all that stuff that has to be done in the home country, and in Haiti. It takes time.

I guess the reason I'm remembering the kids 'left behind' is that the boys I'm adopting are that-we are only in the beginning stages of the adoption process, so they'll be hanging out at the O for a while yet.

So that is the silver lining in this cloud!

Thanks again for taking time to write and pray for the children.

  5. Oh Lara, I know God's plans are in action...I am truly happy for the families and children getting to go home. I can't wait to see your kids with you, AT HOME. It gives me great hope-encourages my heart, really, when kids do go home.

    Your day is coming, soon.

    My day is coming, later.

    All in God's timing.

    Hugs to you, my friend.
