I have been sick for a week now-some nasty cold/flu thing. Not fun. Most of the week I could barely get out of bed, but now, I'm starting to feel better, thank God! Not 100%, but improving for sure.
So I spent some time doing some 'redecorating' and updating....of this blog and our house. (well, I did the blog, my hubby did the work around the house, I just 'supervised' LOL).
Let me know what you think of the changes to the blog. Added a lot of new and hopefully useful information/links etc. Some ways you can help in Haiti too. It will probably continue to evolve-when motivation strikes and time allows.
Around the house-painted the guest room and the guest bathroom and hung up the pics and ceiling fan. Finally. We've only lived here 9 months. lol. But my sister and her hubby are coming at the end of the month-our first out of town visitors in this house. So now, the room is ready. And it's pretty too.
Also hung another ceiling fan in the loft. And put down laminate flooring in the exercise room. Now, got some hardware to put on a few different cabinets to dress them up. Little things can make a big difference.
Cool thing is, the only money we spent was on the paint-2 gallons. Everything else we already had-either purchased when we first moved or brought with us from the other house....so it's kind of nice to be productive and nest, without a big budget outlay!! Feels good. Did I ever tell you that I am super-blessed? I am married to the best General Contractor in the west!! He does good work, and takes pride it in-so our house looks great-all of them have. Thanks hunny!
All that really leaves for us to do in this house is the boys' room. We'll probably tackle that sometime after the first of the year. :-) This is a large house, and once Lee (our foreign exchange student from S. Korea) moves on-we will still have an extra bedroom. We could give the boys each their own room, however, based on their life in the orphanage and all I've read from families that have brought their kids home, they are going to prefer being together/sharing a room. At least at first. So that's our plan. All plans are subject to change-so we'll see what develops.
Anyway, let me know what you think of the new look of the blog. I don't have any pics of the house updates at this time. So you'll have to come see them for yourself. Or you could just tell me what you think of the blog updates.....
Click that link at the end of this post (at the bottom) that says 'additional thoughts' and tell me what you think. Thanks.
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

I want to follow your blog, but it isn't like mine, there isn't a click here thingy....
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new blog colors! Perfect color for boys rooms *wink*.
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteI think that if you scroll down, and on the left to the follow this blog gadget, if you click on the words that say 'follow this blog' that is the link. Hard to tell with the new color scheme, but that is clickable....
Thanks and let me know if it still doesn't work....
I feel very inadequate, I don't even see the words "follow this blog" HELP.....
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteAre you logged in to you blogger account when you're looking? I can see the words/link to 'follow this blog' when I am logged in. But if I log out, the link disappears. Try that and see if it works.
:-)
I like it. I wish I could figure out how to redesign and do cool things too!
ReplyDeleteLENA,
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog since I came home-I miss all the kids and try to keep up on all the families. I like the blog but would follow it no matter what changes you make. I plan to go with Cara in December and can't wait to see the kids.
