You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

thanks for your prayers and notes today, we really appreciate it. Your
continued prayers are needed.....We need a miracle!

Uncle Tom is in the hospital in ICU on life support. He had a heart attack this
morning. They have a plan and the next 24-48 hours are critical to see how much
damage there is. He had to be resucitated and was 'down' for somewhere between
60 and 90 minutes. They did some procedure and said his arteries were
good/clear but that it was an arrithmia or something like that.

God is a God of miracles, He can heal all things. We ask for your continued
prayer that the plan that is in place works and works well and that his heart
begins to recover. Our bold prayer and hope is that Tom recovers fully.

The family is distraught, as you can imagine. No one is ready to let their
husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle go. God is sovereign and we will
accept whatever comes, but we are unwilling to give up and we need your prayers. We especially pray for Aunt Darlene and Breanne and Chelsea (our cousins/Tom's
adult daughters) as they wait for news. Bob's dad is pretty shook up too-Tom is
his younger brother. Tom is only in his late 50's.

Several miracles have already happened-Aunt Darlene and Uncle Tom were together
this morning, to vote. If not for that, he would have been at home alone. And
there were people in the voting line that new CPR and jumped right in.

Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone. Psalms
33:22

Thanks for your continued prayers.

Hello praying friends/family.....

Here's the latest update....on Uncle Tom (Bob's dad's younger brother)
........we need your prayers!

I don't even know where to start.....

Uncle Tom had a heart attack on Tuesday morning. He was down for almost 2
hours, getting manual compressions, and during that time he also was shocked by
the 'paddles' about 20 times.

Yesterday was a grim day. A neurologist was to examine him to assess brain
function/damage in the later part of the day, and that didn't happen. The doc
just didn't show up......things were just not looking good.

I have been to see folks in the ICU before, but I have never actually seen this
many machines on a person before...machines for meds, breathing, keeping his
blood pressure up, everything. He wasn't doing any of this stuff on his own.

Of course the doctors are only human and can't predict the future-there is one
pessimistic (or some might say realistic) doc and one that is more
optimistic/hopeful. Or at least there was yesterday.

Today's report is that Uncle Tom is ........

a CANDIDATE FOR A HEART TRANSPLANT!!!! He has brain function. Let me say that
again. HE HAS BRAIN FUNCTION!!!!

he squeezed a hand, he followed the docs commands during the neurology
exam......he was still out/unconcious, but responsive-not just reflexive!!!!!!

Yesterday they kept down playing all the moves that he made (twitches, eyes
open, trying to get the tubes out etc) as reflexes and told us they didn't mean
anything. Today it's a more positive outlook.

Praise God-it's most definitely your prayers that are making a difference, so
PLEASE don't stop. He's not out of the woods by any means, but we still have
hope!!!

They are in the midst of moving him to the best hospital in town. Pray for Darlene,
Breanne, and Chelsea as they make decisions and all the doctors as they advise.
Pray for Uncle Tom to use his sometimes grouchy stubbornness (he's an old marine
and a vietnam vet) and grit to fight for his life.

Pray for protection and continued healing and strength. God is in the miracle
business.....He's done a number of them already. There is NO reason to believe
He won't finish what He started.
We are so grateful for your prayers.....THANK
YOU!

PRAY PRAY PRAY

Thanks so much,

Lena & Bob

Hi all,

Miracles DO happen.

Uncle Tom is improving-get this, he DOES NOT NEED a heart transplant. His heart is back up to functioning like it was before Tuesday. The doc's are amazed.....

He has been taken off the heart pump machine, and is doing that on his own. He
has a blood infection and pnemonia in one lung.

He is improving.....Praise God.

Please continue to pray for Tom, and his family.

Thank you so much for being a part of this and lifting Uncle Tom in prayer. Bob
and I are grateful to have you and to be able to share requests like this.

Awed by Him (again),

Lena & Bob

Psa 116:6 The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and then he saved me.

Mat 6:30 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith!

Mat 8:26 And Jesus answered, "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then he stood up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly all was calm.

Mat 9:29 Then he touched their eyes and said, "Because of your faith, it will happen."

Mat 17:20 "You didn't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, `Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."*

Mat 21:21 Then Jesus told them, "I assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, `May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and it will happen.

No matter the final outcome, God is great. Please keep praying. Your prayers are vital and life saving. God is great.

  4. Thank you! Your prayers are definitely making a difference. Please keep them coming, as the infection he has is bad-and the next 24-48 hours are critical to see if he will get past that. Each day he seems to improve.....

    Praying and praising God.

    Thanks again!
