You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

7 Random/Quirky Things About Me

I've been tagged by Stephanie, so here's my list of 7 random/quirky/little known things about me.

1) I am a health food nut. In fact, we sometimes drive over 90 minutes, one way to go to one of my favorite places to eat-an old farm turned amazing eatery where all the produce is grown on site...and the meat is local/AZ raised. You can taste the dirt in the produce. The vegetables are vibrantly colored....the tomatoes are RED not pink.....I LOVE it. Everything tastes great because it is fresh/local. Sometimes it's not all 'healthy' in the conventional sense of the word, but it is GOOOOOOOOOOD!

2) I love pugs. I mean absolutely LOVE and adore pugs. Like get down on the floor and play with them, make pug sounds and roll around with them. They are the cutest dogs ever! Pick them up and squeeeeeeze the stuffin' out of them. (that is why they have such puggy/buggy eyes!!!lol) Such personality-little clowns. I currently am owned by 3 fawn pugs. I have shared my adult life/home with a total of 5 pugs through the years.

3) One of my favorite actors is Steven Seagal. Hmm, I get all dreamy just thinking about him. I love to watch him kick the bad guys butts-all without even breaking a sweat. :-)

4) I have long harbored a fantasy to sell everything we own and buy motorhome and drive around the country, seeing all there is to see. Perhaps doing an odd job here and there to pay for fuel. I could be a gypsy, I think. Or maybe just in fantasy land. I'm not sure. But I'd love to give it a go.

5) Advanced degrees and all-I've never wanted to do anything other than be a mom. A stay at home mom. The degrees and projects and stuff were just filler, while I wait for the real dream to begin. I'm glad I got the edumacation and all, but really, what's the lasting impact? or the legacy? On my deathbed, I don't imagine that I will want my diplomas, certificates, degrees or textbooks around to keep me company. I imagine that I will want people (ie family and friends) around. Call me nuts, but it's a hunch. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the education, it's just not the priority that some people make it out to be, to me.

6) I'm half Korean and dream of the day I can afford to travel there and meet my family that remains there and to see my mom's hometown for myself. I would love to have a Korean baby/child in my family someday.

7) I have friends that have adopted 11 children, and fostered tons more. My heroes. What an amazing life and lasting legacy that is.....I'd like to have a family big enough to cause a scene wherever we go. LOL. Okay, maybe not. But you get the idea. A big family would be okay by me.

7a) I am secretly in love with.....well, if I tell you, it won't be a secret anymore. My husband and I jokingly refer to this man/personality/celebrity (ok, hint, talk and radio show host and author) as my 'other husband'. I even met him not once, but twice.......my husband took me to meet him. TWICE! Nice guy, eh? lol.

I tag Sarah, Michele, and Missy.

  2. Oh-when you are tagged-you can post your answers on your own blog....

Thanks for the compliment, I like the new look too. It wasn't too hard to do-there's a link to the site where I got my background (free) online.....

Hope you guys are doing well. Isn't this weather terrific?

  3. Pugs? Ewww! They are my least favorite dog. I hate their little snorty sounds:) And it just looks like someone kicked them in the face! I hope we can still be friends after I said that:) Are those your pugs in the picture? By the way, I hate to be the one to point it out but... it looks like the little pug in the back is licking the bigger one's... well... you know!

Steven Segal??? Double ewww!!! I am more of a George Clooney, Matt Damon, Kanye West kind of gal:)

Motorhome- Now that sounds like fun!

And who, oh who, is your secret love interest? I really don't know! My two guesses are Ryan Seacrest or Dr. Phil!?!

    Please tell!

  4. Cara,
Dr. Phil?!?!?! Are you kidding me? Uh, no, it's not Dr. Phil. Not at all! eeeeww.

I will have to pray about being friends with you after your negative pug comments. hhhhpppmph!

Those are 2 of my pugs, and Lola is not licking Frank's 'you know' she is resting her head on him-using him like a pillow. One of her favorite things to do.

And because I am so insulted by your pug comments, I'm NOT telling you who the secret love is.

    hmmmph!

(of course, I am just kiddin'....or am I?) Wink ;-P

  7. Once again that Cara Boone has got me cracking up!

Seriously I am not a fan of any dogs, but I will not bash your pugs out of respect :o)

I am, however, going to go with the double ewwww on Steven Seagal. Really?

Very cool that you are half Korean. We had a little girl from Korea stay with us for a few days while she was here on the student exchange program. She was so sweet and really could pack away the Kim Chee.

  8. Thank you, Stephanie-I appreciate your show of respect, unlike Cara!!! hmmmph to her. ;-)

Yeah, I know, that Steven Seagal thing is odd, but when I watch his movies, and see him being all mysterious and beatin on the bad guys-he's so cool, calm, collected, and doesn't even break a sweat. I LOVE that. :-)

I love kimchi, and Lee (our exchange student) can pack that away too-along with all food. especially chocolate and bananas. Boy can that skinny boy eat!! lol

  9. Cara,

    You are (sort of) forgiven.

lol, of course, I am just teasin' you.

As far as your guess to who is my secret love, you're getting warmer. :-)

  10. Thanks, Missy,

I am a tad on the quirky side, but tend to hide it a good bit of the time. But once I decide to let it out, watch out! tee hee hee, you'll be wishing for the days when you thought I was less quirky.

    You have been warned!

    LOL

  11. I LOVE kimchee too, though I haven't had it since college - the days of eating kimchee onsaltine crackers and drinking beer. ;-) Okay, I loved it then, haven't had it for about 19 years, so can't speak to NOW. Fond memories make it yummy, though.
